Arrested Bloggers

All over the world bloggers become victims of political mistreatment and are arrested for their writings. Some are being held in custody for months without being taken to court, others get sentenced to years in prison. Human rights have a low value for their governments: Freedom of expression can only be dreamed of.

This list is thought to give a sight on current as well as on past cases. By no means it can be expected to be complete, but we are trying to keep it up to date. From time to time, we will add past detentions. As soon as we can provide informations on a blogger, his or her name will be linked.
