Thar Phyu is a computer shop owner and blogger from the Mogok Township in central Burma. He is also a member of the National League for Democracy’s youth division. On September 11, 2007, he got warned by the authorities for not having a license for his computer shop. The warning was allegedly related to Thar Phyu’s coverage of demonstrations against the hike in fuel prices. He was the first blogger to be reportedly called in and get warned by the Burmese authorities ((The Irrawady » Mogok blog writer warned)).
